But according to Contactmusic.com, The Rolling Stones frontman thought the video featured way too much of his fine self, and demanded that Maroon 5 edit it!
The song, which is currently on top of the charts here and in the States, also features Christina Aguilera who teamed up with the American rockers for the catchy tribute song.
Sir Mick told British paper the Times:
"It's kind of odd. Moves Like Jagger is seriously catchy. I can sing it for you if you want, but I'll spare you that. I knew all about it, it wasn't like a surprise to me. I know the band, I know Christina, I know the video director, and they kept sending me the video cuts with me in it.”
"There was far too much of me in the first one, I was going, 'What about the rest of the band!' So I cut out a bit."
And while he’s still considered a sex icon, it appears Mick doesn’t have the diva-tude to match – he turned down an opportunity to perform with Maroon 5 because he couldn’t bear to sing about himself!
"Maroon 5 asked me to come and do this show with them! What am I going to do? Sing it? I don't think I'm going to be there."
Meanwhile, The Rolling Stones are set to release a remastered deluxe edition of their groundbreaking album ’Some Girls’. First topping the charts three decades ago, ‘Some Girls’ remains their best selling album. It drops November 18…
