His 50 date comeback tour ‘This Is It’ was sold-out in just minutes – but while the world was desperately awaiting his return to the stage, Michael Jackson himself was clearly feeling the pressure.
According to TMZ, the late King of Pop feared that he’d end up having to flip burgers for a living if he was unable to perform the shows, organised by promoters AEG.
The pop icon, who died in 2009, just weeks before his tour was due to kick off at London’s O2 arena, allegedly confided in his hairdresser of 25-years, Karen Faye.
According to TMZ, she said,
"He was scared to death because AEG was funding everything. He said he would have to work at McDonalds if he didn't do these shows."
And talking of fast food, the singer’s sister Janet Jackson has revealed one of her fondest memories of her later brother was when they fed the homeless together.
In an interview with Piers Morgan, the songstress said,
“Mike and I were very close. We used to go to this restaurant called Love’s. I don’t think it’s there anymore, and we used to get a ton of dinners. And we’d drive around in the car looking for homeless people to give them to.
“We used to do it all the time.”
