The heiress, who was arrested in Las Vegas over the weekend, has been charged with felony cocaine possession.
If convicted of the crime, the reality star - who spent 27 days in jail back in 2007 for driving under the influence of alcohol - could be sentenced to another four years behind bars.
According to police reports, the blonde babe was pulled over by cops in the early hours of Saturday morning and an officer smelled “the strong odour of marijuana coming from the vehicle.”
Upon being stopped, the socialite asked to go to the bathroom at a nearby hotel and when she opened her purse to put on lip balm, the officer claimed,
“I saw a small bindle of what I believed to be cocaine in a clear baggie begin to fall from the purse and into my hand."
The official documents also state that the 29-year-old insisted she had not seen the bag of drugs, “but now thought it was gum.”
She did, however, claim ownership of other contents inside her purse including a broken Albuterol pill, Zig Zag wrappers commonly used to smoke marijuana, $13000 in cash and credit cards.
Meanwhile her boyfriend Cy Waits, who was driving the car, was booked on charges of DUI and has allegedly lost his job as head of nightclub operations for Wynn and Encore properties following the incident.
Paris’ lawyer David Chesnoff has since issued a statement insisting,
“This matter will be dealt with in the courts not in the media and I encourage people not to rush to judgement until all of the facts have been dealt with in a court of law.”
