According to a Musicradar.com poll, the Guns N Roses singer shockingly bagged first place, with charismatic Queen star Freddie Mercury landing in second and Led Zeppelin rocker Robert Plant coming in third.
Ronnie James Dio, lead singer of Black Sabbath and Heaven and Hell took out fourth spot, while Beatles legend John Legend came in at fifth.
Rounding out the top 5 were Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson, Thom Yorke of Radiohead, Kurt Cobain from Nirvana, Matt Bellamy of Muse fame and the iconic Paul McCartney of the Beatles.
