According to swanky LA jewellers, XIV Karats, Li-Lo borrowed a bunch of pricey baubles for a recent red carpet event but never returned them.
An insider at the store said: “The jewels were in Lindsay's care and they were only on a loaner, they were expected to be returned. If something is not resolved soon there will be legal action taken."
It’s not the first time the chameleon-coiffed celeb’s been at the centre of a missing gem scandal.
Earlier this year, British Elle magazine admitted a heap of the sparkly stuff went missing after Linds did a cover shoot for them. However, they later released a statement saying they had no reason to believe it was her with the sticky fingers.
Meanwhile, the newly blonde babe has been playing detective herself after her swanky LA pad was broken into over the weekend.
Police suspect the culprits are the same bunch who broke into 'The Hills' star Audrina Partridge's place earlier this year.
And now the 23-year-old has taken to her Twitter to announce that it was no random burglary. She wrote: "that's how i know it was not a ROBBERY. electronics weren't taken… just things that a certain old friend knew meant a lot to me."
