With the final episode ever of ‘The Hills’ looming ever-closer, MTV will be following the stories of all ‘The Hills’ characters you’ve grown to love, (and hate!) in the coming days.

Today, we take a look at the drama-filled career of ‘Laguna Beach’ alumna, perennial party girl and controversy magnet Kristin Cavallari; whose spicy attitude heats up the reality series like chilli curry at four in the morning!

In the beginning…

When Kristin’s wild antics proved too much for her mum, the blonde babe is shipped from Illinois to Laguna Beach, California to live with her brother and father. Little did she know her life was about to take a whole new path… and reality TV would never be the same!

It was when she was attending Laguna Beach High that Kristin and several schoolmates (including Lauren Conrad and Lo Bosworth) were picked to be in a little reality show called ‘Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County’, for MTV.

It didn’t take long for Kristin’s on-off relationship with senior Stephen Colletti to take centre stage… but she wasn’t the only with eyes for the hunky senior. Pretty soon, viewers were glued to their screens, devouring the Stephen-Lauren-Kristin love triangle…

Kristin rocks Laguna…

In Season 2 of ‘Laguna’, Kristin, with her beach babe looks and snipey suffer-no-fools persona takes her moment to shine, becoming the star of the show and a certified teen queen! Fellow ‘Laguna Beach’ star Talan Torriero then makes the fateful introduction between Kristin and Brody Jenner , which she calls her "first mature relationship. He's good-looking and he makes me laugh for hours." In August 2006, after about a year of dating, they call it quits.

Bye-Bye Laguna - Hello Hollywood

Leaving Laguna behind, Kristin moves to L.A. to pursue acting. She takes on a variety of roles including reality TV series ‘Get This Party Started’, ‘Veronica Mars’, ‘CSI: NY’, and ‘Adventures in Hollyhood’. Thanks to a rumoured relationship with newly single Nick Lachey, she also became overnight tabloid fodder.

Then, with the announcement that LC is calling it quits on ‘The Hills’ after five seasons, rumours began to swirl that Kristin could be poised to take her place. The starlet made no attempt to downplay the whispers, boasting that she’d do a better job than LC…

“I’m a completely different person than Lauren. I have a lot more energy. I’m more outgoing. I’m a little more spontaneous. And she has a boyfriend so she’s not dating on the show. I’m very open to dating and finding a guy.”

“Why Is Kristin Cavallari Here?”

With Lauren making an exit from 'The Hills' after Speidi’s wedding, the second half of Season 5 sees a new face in the famous postcode. Kristin joins Heidi, Audrina, and her ex Brody as MTV's new star, and from the get-go it’s obvious she’s not come to make friends.

Fans are divided on whether the uber-biarch will be able to fill Lauren Conrad’s Chanel pumps, but so far the general consensus is no matter if you love, hate or rate Kristin, she’s going to stir things up.

Stephanie told MTV: “The bitch is back. It's been five years, and I think she had a good five years to really get her bitchiness ready for 'The Hills’.”

"They want me to come in and stir up drama–and I'm good for it," Kristin admits.

The Bitch Is Back….

She wastes no time stirring Audrina’s wrath by making inroads for Justin Bobby and flirting with Brody. Cue an unmissable, full-blown cat spat between Audrina, Kristin and Stephanie with K-Cav screaming, “You f*%#d with the wrong girl, dude!”

Meanwhile, Spencer and Heidi welcome Kristin with open fake-tanned arms, with Spencer saying: "There wouldn't be a 'Hills' if there wasn't a Kristin Cavallari, because the 'Laguna Beach' brand wouldn't have had the power." .

But Kristin starts to see why Audrina had so many problems with Justin and she’s not prepared to put up with any head games. Meanwhile, Brody is having relationship problems of his own, and he starts to wonder whether his needy girlfriend Jayde is worth the trouble.

After being left on the back burner by Brody, Kristin and Justin decide to take their relationship to the next level, but will third time be the charm?

Kristin attempts to mend fences with the girls, but soon a tabloid rumor about her partying quickly ends in a confrontation. Kristin’s on the warpath - and she’s headed straight for Stephanie, Lo and Audrina...

Putting their differences aside, Kristin and the girls decide to meet up to talk Heidi and Spencer, who’s tenuous grasp on reality is starting to cause real friction. Kristin, Audrina, Holly, Lo, and Stephanie make the hard decision to cut out Spencer and Heidi from their lives for good.

Kristin and Brody turn their friendship into friends-with-benefits, but that falls apart when he starts seeing McKaela. But Kristin isn’t going to let an anyone spoil her convenient arrangement with Brody, and decides to blow the competition out of the water. When a friend of McKaela’s (who also happens to be an old enemy of Kristin and Brody’s) makes an appearance, Brody makes no hesitation in taking Kristin’s side and proving where his loyalties really lie…

Kristin will have to decide if she's going to make a major change in her life, and will Brody be a part of it? You’ll have to watch the final episode of 'The Hills' to find out!
