His new swag of singles have been soaring up the charts, but that doesn’t mean Eminem is resting on his laurels! In fact, Slim has announced that he’s returning to his roots and releasing an EP with rap-star Royce Da 5’9”!

According to Yahoo.com news, Slim first collabed with Royce over a decade ago when he was breaking into the hip hop scene in Detroit. The pair, who met at a gig in '97, joined forces for one song on Em’s major label debut ‘The Slim Shady LP’ in '99, and later released a three-track single under the moniker Bad Meets Evil.

But things turned sour for the duo shortly after - Royce’s tracks all failed to make an impression on the charts, and the rapper was later embroiled in a nasty in a war of words with Em’s crew D12.

A series of diss tracks were exchanged, but after their mutual friend Proof was shot dead in a nightclub in 2006, the boys decided to play nice and put their differences behind them – setting the stage for a Bad Meets Evil reunion. Then, when Royce’s new group Slaughterhouse singed to Em’s label, it seemed like it was only a matter of time until the pair got back into the studio.

Now, that moment has arrived, with Em saying via an Interscope Records press release:

"Royce and I started hanging out again and inevitably that led us back into the studio," Eminem said in a statement. "At first we were just seeing where it went without any real goal in mind, but the songs started to come together crazy, so here we are."

Royce da 5'9" added that he was "excited to see this project come to fruition considering the long lapse in time between when we worked before and now."

The as-yet-untitled album will drop June 14 on Shady/Interscope records, with Porter from D12 on producing credits.
