Aussie fans could be among the very last to see the Gorillaz live!
The amazing chart-topping cartoon band, who’ve taken the world by storm, could be set to split after wrapping up their world tour next month.
Members Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, who are currently Down Under, have revealed it might be the right time to call it a day.
In an interview with The Age, the former Blur frontman said,
"We always think that when we get to a point where we've achieved something, it's time to stop.
"It's been an unqualified success, bizarrely. But sometimes, it seems, you need to quit when you're ahead.”
And Jamie agreed. "This would be a wonderful point to leave Gorillaz,” he said.
"At the end of this tour, I think.
“This tour, with these people, is a one-off. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We’ll never repeat this.”
Although, he insists, there’s still space for a change of heart after their demanding run of huge live shows finishes in New Zealand later this month.
Jamie added, "We'll see how we feel in January (after the tour). A period of reflection and sobriety... I couldn't keep going at this size and pace."
