It’s official – Metallica have been rocking the world for 30 years!
The legendary four piece, who formed back in 1981, are celebrating outlasting most of their rock n’ roll rivals with an immense 30th anniversary bash!
And we’re not talking about one crazy night of chucking guitars out of hotel windows – but a week-long series of shows!
Celebrating the impressive milestone with those who helped them shift more than 100 million records worldwide – their fans of course – the metal veterans will perform a set of exclusive gigs in San Francisco this December.
"Thirty years of Metallica... can you believe it? We think it's cause for a major celebration!” the band wrote on their official website.
"These unique shows will include special guests and events, rare songs, varied set lists, odds and ends, and all the nutty stuff you expect from Metallica... fun for the entire family!"
"Spend the week with us to not only close out 2011 with a bang, but to celebrate over three decades' worth of craziness."
The rockers are currently working on a surprise collaborative record with Lou Reed, and are believed to also be preparing tracks for their 10th studio release!
