- Michael Jackon Coming To Broadway

Sort Of

The videoclip for Michael Jackson's iconic single 'Thriller' is being turned into a multi-million dollar Broadway musical. 25 years after the singer first lead a troupe of zombies in a finely choreographed dance, the legendary video clip is being used as the basis of an all new, ghoul-themed stage production, according to US reports.

Released in 1983, the video clip for 'Thriller' was famous for its meaty production, length and budget. Weighing in at 14 minutes, it was directed by John Landis and cost a (then) record-breaking $500,000 to make. It was money well spent the constant rotation on MTV helped to break MJ as an international superstar.

For those who don't remember, the actual film clip was pretty schlocky, and centred around Jackson and a date being attacked by zombies. Not one to take that kinda crap, Jackson transforms into a zombie himself and leads the undead in an organized shimmy. As you do.

The 'Thriller' album won seven Grammys upon release and went on to be the highest-selling album of all time, shifting over 40 million copies in the US alone. Anyhoo, according to the New York Post, a producer named James Nederlander is set to produce a Broadway adaptation. Whether the gloved-one (or Bubbles The Chimp) will make an appearance is still to be seen but we're sure he wouldn't mind the additional dosh.  Maybe then he can buy back his beloved Neverland Ranch?

More news when it comes to hand.
