Brit singing sensation Florence Welch has shown her support for fellow Australia’s PM Julia Gillard.

But it’s not her political agendas that have won over the songstress – but the fact that, like her, she’s also redhead!

Describing the politician as “utterly brilliant,” the popstar gushed to the Herald Sun,

"Redheads are ruling the world.

"It is good, because redheads used to be accused of witchcraft and get burnt at the stake a lot. It is good to see we are coming back."

The Florence and the Machine star, who’s currently touring Down Under, wowed her Aussie fans at ‘Splendour In The Grass’ festival in Queensland over the weekend.

Decked in a cape and matching white sparkly gown, the stunner had the crowd on their feet for her hour long set, which included hits such as ‘You’ve Got The Love’ and ‘Rabbit Heart’ from her award-winning album ‘Lungs.’
