The megastar joins the ever-growing number of celebrities who are banding together tomorrow to pledge their support, either by performing or encouraging people to donate to Oxfam America, Partners in Health, Red Cross, UNICEF and Yele Haiti Foundation.”
Overnight, even more celebrities have been added to the bill including Bill Clinton, Charlize Theron, the Jonas Brothers, Will Smith, Sacha Baron Cohen, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, and Nicole Kidman who will be joining her husband Keith Urban.
Madge is confirmed to play in New York alongside Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira and Sting, while Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift are confirmed for Los Angeles. Beyoncé, Coldplay, and a group performance by Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z and Rihanna will take place in London.
As well as donations, the music performances from the shows will be made available to purchase from iTunes, with the proceeds going to help the cause.
Wyclef Jean, who returned from his native Haiti this week, said he was stunned to hear courageous Haitians “still singing, despite what they were going through,” as he walked through the streets of Port-au-Prince.
