Fresh from performing at Good Vibrations in Oz, hip-hop sensation Kid Cudi dropped into MTV to reveal how he bags hot ladies for his videos, dances to his own hits in nightclubs, and what it’s really like working with Mark Wahlberg.

MTV: Your first single ‘Day ‘n’ Nite’ is such a huge dance track. If it came on in a club would you bust a move to it?

Kid Cudi: Yeah I always always rave to my music. You can’t expect other people to dance if you don’t dance!

MTV: Your videos for both ‘Day ‘n’ Nite’ and ‘Pursuit Of Happiness’ both feature some stunning ladies. Is this a requirement to be in Kid Cudi video?

Kid Cudi: It’s all down to casting. I don’t say ‘oh make sure there’s dreamy hot girls in the video.’ It just kind of happens that hot girls just like to be in my videos.

MTV: You recently turned 26. How did you celebrate?

Kid Cudi: I was in LA and I chilled back. I saw my mum, my sister and my girlfriend. My niece was in town too. My niece said happy birthday Uncle Scott, it was awesome.

MTV: What else do you want to achieve before u turn 30?

Kid Cudi: I want to definitely do some films. Also direct, screen write a little bit, and do some executive producing. Also do a couple more albums. It’s a lot but I’ve got time.

MTV: You’re starring in the US comedy show ‘How to make it in America,’ produced by Mark Wahlberg. What’s he like?

Kid Cudi: Man he came on set one day and I was like ‘wow.’ I knew he was coming, but Mark Wahlberg is someone that I admire as an actor and as a person. He’s really cool, down to earth, very supportive.

You could tell her was excited about the show, he was excited about me being a part of the show and what I bring to the table. MTV: You’ve been described as a style icon, where do you get the inspiration from?

Kid Cudi: I definitely dress more for comfort now, that’s the inspiration. I say, ‘Is this going to be comfortable?’ Stuff that just makes me feel fresh.
