In years past, we’ve been spoilt for choice when it comes to top notch international entertainment, with many bands and artists using the Southern Hemisphere as a territory to test new material. This year was no exception with everyone from Wu Tang, to Janet Jackson, Elton John and Enrique coming Down Under to wow Aussie and Kiwi fans!
And let’s not forget the festival that saw a host of superstars rocking our shores...
Here we remember the Classic gigs that rocked our world in 2011.
It’s not the first time he’s rocked Oz, but for rap legend Eminem THIS is the Aussie tour he’ll always remember now that he’s clean and sober. And he’s not the only one - the ‘Lose Yourself’ singer, who last performed Down Under in 2001, proved he was well worth the ten year wait during his sell-out gigs in Sydney and Melbourne.

Goodbye ‘Yellow Brick Road’, hello Australia! In news that sent fans into meltdown, Sir Elton John announced a five day tour Down Under – and he certainly didn’t disappoint!
With a voice that sends shivers down your spine, fans that had only seen Eddie Vedder play with Pearl Jam in huge arenas were in for a real treat at Sydney’s State Theatre.

What do the likes of Kanye, Jay-Z, Eminem, Nas and Snoop have in common? Well, they’re all longtime fans of the Wu-Tang Clan, and they aren’t the only ones. So imagine how stoked Aussie rap fans were to hear the legendary crew announce a tour Down Under!
Helloooo mother f**kin’ Sydney!! The crowd roared, and so heralded a massive 12 hours of metal at Soundwave 2011 with the likes of Sum 41, Slash, Primus, Pennywise and Slayer taking to the stage.

Australians just love Chris Isaak, and it seems that love is reciprocated in a big way because the rocker and occasional actor revealed that not only was he coming Down Under for a string of performances, he was also dropping his new album ‘Beyond The Sun’ here before anywhere else in the world!

Almost thirty years after he first cracked the charts, Bryan Adams' repertoire of classic hits can still be heard blasting out at pubs, karaoke bars and back yard BBQs around the country. So you can imagine fans excitement when the legendary hit-maker announced he was returning to our shores for his most personal and intimate shows ever in September!

It took a facebook petition and thousands of ‘likes’ but Aussie fans finally got their way with news that the sexy Latino hit-maker Enrique Iglesias would be heading down under in July!
