Grafton Primary DJ Ben Garden gave his seal of approval to the new DJ Hero ™ game at its launch party this weekend.

Talking to MTV.com.au, he said: “The game is thrilling and challenging. It’s great for anyone wanting to learn the hand movements and co-ordination of working real decks but also fun for people just wanting to mess around and enjoy the music.”

Aussie dance demons, Muscles and Van She’s Nicky Night, along with Sydney’s coolest DJs, socialites and gaming fans, also rolled up to Q Bar on Oxford Street, Sydney.

Following the epic success of Guitar Hero ®, the build up to the release of DJ Hero has been more exciting) than Heidi Klum dancing around in her underwear. The launch of DJ Hero in the US, had stars such as Kim Kardashian, Tony Hawk, The Olsen Twins and Travis Barker all gagging to check it out as well as Jay Z and Eminem, who both have their music featured in the game.

DJ Hero presents 100 tracks refashioned into 80 exclusive mixes by the likes of Cut Chemist, DJ AM, DJ Z-Trip, and DJ Shadow, who consulted on the creation of the game. Players can take on the character of these master mixers and spin tracks from Daft Punk to Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna to The Killers, Kid Cudi to Gwen Stefani and Marvin Gaye to Beastie Boys to name a few.

The first Aussies to experience DJ Hero made no secret of their enthusiasm for the game. Big ups were given for the variety of music which extends across the genres of hip hop, R&B, rock, pop and dance offering some very unique and fun sounds.

Also very cool is that DJ Hero can be as easy or challenging as you want. First time users, hardcore gamers, wannabe DJs and the pros all give DJ Hero the thumbs up.

Rating and scoring is done very similarly to Guitar Hero. You earn stars and points for your performance and the game will grade your accuracy.

Developed by FreeStyle Games and published by Activision Publishing/RedOctane, DJ Hero hits shops this month so make sure you get your hands on a set before they sell out and start living out your DJ dreams.
