Here at MTV we’re still recovering from the madness of ‘Splendour In The Grass’ - but Aussie music fans get ready for more, because the count down to ‘Big Day Out 2012’ has officially begun!

While the bash may still be a few months away, rumours about who might be rocking the stage next year have already spread like wild fire!

According to Triple M, Blink 182, Queens Of The Stone Age, Eminem and Prince are all piped to perform at the annual event.

"Promoters have been in Europe in the last couple of weeks. It's looking like Blink-182 is back on the table [and] QOTSA, who put on a blistering performance at Glastonbury, they're also on the table as well," Triple M’s Nui Te Koha told the Hot Breakfast radio show.

"Rival promoters are saying that the BDO are sounding out Prince," he added. "It seems like a weird fit but apparently talks happened in Europe with Prince for BDO or one of the Summer festivals."

The longtime festival Down Under boasts an impressive list of previous headline acts, including Nirvana, Muse, Foo Fighters, Metallica and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
