The Cracks, who won the public vote by a close margin, will be flying to Singapore in a matter of days to perform at LG LIVE at the 2010 Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix among an international line-up, including Missy Elliot, Adam Lambert and Mariah Carey.
The Bondi-based four piece, who describe themselves as indie garage rock with “a bit of a ‘60s vibe”, were chosen from over 200 entries from around the nation by an expert panel of judges that included “Fully Sick Rapper” Christiaan Van Vuuren, MTV’s Talent Artist Relations Manager Laura Vozzo, Aloha Music Management’s Dan Hennessy and Aussie band Amy Meredith’s front man Christian Lo Russo.
After the win, The Cracks front-man Andy Crosby said:
“The other finalists were awesome, and hanging out with them and getting to know them was great. You just never know what the public and the judges will like, and we can’t wait to hit the stage next week in Singapore,” he said.
“Our debut EP will be out shortly so this is such an amazing opportunity for us; we want to thank LG for providing us with this platform to get us started,” Andy added.
LG’s Corporate Marketing Manager Mark Nesci also said he was excited to see the band rock out next week next to international superstar acts.
“We wanted to help provide Australians with those ‘Life’s Good’ moments, and we believe the LG Unsigned competition is a great platform for this. We’ve found a really high calibre of talent and it’s been really rewarding for us to be a part of it.”
