The singer performed a stripped back versh of the ‘70s hit with a piano and strings section for accompaniment.
Looking glam and understated in a floor-length black gown, SuBo was greeted with deafening applause as she hit her first high note and then for every one she struck after that.
As the song ended she was greeted with a standing ovation and many audience members were in tears. It’s believed over 25 million US viewers tuned in to watch.
In a recorded segment before her performance, the singing sensation talked of her meltdown which saw her admitted to rehab after the finale of ’Britain’s Got Talent’ - the show on which she was discovered.
She said: “With no pressure, and then having all this pressure on top of it, I found a bit suffocating.
“I don't remember much about it after the finale. All I remember is being put in an ambulance and being taken to a clinic. I've never felt so tired. I look back at it now - it was a necessity because I was tired. I don't know what was wrong me with, though.”
She added: "I used to be a kind of spectator looking out at the world, but now I'm part of that world. And although frightening, I'm going to embrace it, because I feel a bit more confident within myself, more able to cope, more able to take part in the dream.
“I’m not the wee frightened wee lassie I used to be.”
Good to hear it, lady.
SuBo’s debut album, ’I Dreamed A Dream’, hits Aussie stores on Friday, November 20.
