While no new songs from the recording sessions have emerged online, a video on the band's website shows Matt Helders and frontman, Alex Turner, working together in the studio. You don't get much, just a bit of harmonising over a guitar part, but it confirms the guys are getting down to business amidst all the partying.
And there definitely has been partying. Taking time out from recording in New York, the guys headed down to Miami where, amongst other things, they caught up with P. Diddy and made a home video documenting the developing 'bromance' between Helders and Diddy.
Anyway, Alex Turner recently commented that "78 per cent [of the album] is done, I have been working in fractions actually – two thirds. [I'm] thrilled with it." The band also premiered a number of tracks on their recent tour with the Big Day Out - Crying Lightning, Would You Like to Build Me A Go-Kart, Dangerous Animals and Pretty Visitors among them.
It's been two years since the last LP, so expect the third, as yet untitled album, sooner rather than later.
