Courtney Love and Dave Grohl are in uproar over the appearance of late grunge legend, Kurt Cobain, in the new ’Guitar Hero’ video game.

In the game, Kurt’s digitized image can be used to sing a range of songs, including two Nirvana classics. But the pair aren’t happy about this.

Love is on the warpath to be exact and has threatened to “sue the sh*t out of the people behind Guitar Hero.”

She has also taken to her Twitter and written: “not in twenty JILLION years would i EVER have allowed this…" and: "we get NO money for this, travesty, Frances (Bean, Love and Cobain’s daughter) gets NO money for the rape."

Meanwhile Foo Fighters frontman (and former Nirvana drummer) Grohl and Nirvana’s former bassist and co-founder, Krist Novoselic, have issued a statement in which they say: “It's hard to watch an image of Kurt pantomiming other artists' music alongside cartoon characters. Kurt Cobain wrote songs that hold a lot of meaning to people all over the world. We feel he deserves better."

It doesn’t end there. In her latest Twitter update, Love blames Grohl for the situation, writing: “you can assrape dave he was always a bad seed and is stillriding the shit while i take bullets if theres a hell hes going. im not.”

However, ‘Guitar Hero’ makers, Activision, have released a statement confirming they were given full permission to use Cobain’s image - by Love, herself.

The statement reads: "Guitar Hero secured the necessary licensing rights from the Cobain estate in a written agreement signed by Courtney Love to use Kurt Cobain's likeness as a fully playable character in Guitar Hero® 5."

End of, surely…
