We knew he had the 'wow-factor' when he was cast in MTV Australia's very own TV drama, ‘Dreamlife’ ( The 2007 Optus One80project wining entry). Xavier is now set to star in one of Hollywood’s biggest productions alongside drool-worthy Robert Pattinson and ware-spunk Taylor Lautner. Xavier’s character in ‘Eclipse’ will be ‘Riley’ a good looking college student who gets sucked (literally) into joining a plot to murder Bella (Kristen Stewart).
“I don’t have any facial hair, so it will be a while before I play the gruff leading man,” Xavier has said. “Maybe one day I’ll get to play my actual age. For now my baby face has condemned me to play the teenager.”
R-Patz and K-Stew have discovered that being part of the world biggest Vampire movie series has its ups and downs. Xavier had better be prepared for all sorts of attention. Not only will his instantly recognisable mug be the object of affection for casting agents around the globe, he’ll probably never be able to walk outside again thanks to hordes of young girls in love-lorn meltdown - poor guy!
Samuel, who will be making his American film debut, beat out the likes of Tom Felton (who plays Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter series) and Channing Tatum to play Riley. He’s also appeared in the Aussie films Newcastle and Further We Search.
Eclipse is expected to start shooting sometime next month in Vancouver, and is due for release on June 30, 2010. New Moon hits cinemas November 20th, so sharpen your fangs and look sharp Twilighters.
