Green Day drummer Tre Cool has put himself in some life-threatening situations since he arrived Down Under last week.

The punk-rock lords kick off the Aussie leg of their tour tonight (Dec 4), but Cool admits they could easily have been one drummer down with all the crazy antics he’s been partaking in.

The sticksman has dabbled in scuba-diving, sky-diving and swimming in shark-infested waters.

He told the Daily Telegraph: “There's some big, big-ass sharks here from what the signs say. I am going to cut my foot and go for a swim. This may be the last conversation I ever have.”

He added: "I think the thing we are learning on this world tour is to enjoy every second, to really appreciate it and savour it.”

And fans can expect similarly eye-watering shenanigans from the live shows.

Cool said: “The physicality of the show, that's what feels so good about playing. Maybe we're freaks but if I'm feeling a little rundown from the flight, it's good to sweat it all out. I play a show and then I feel great.

"It's like being chained to a treadmill and a little kid who never gets bored has the controls and he thinks it's really funny to make you go faster or make you have a heart attack going uphill.”

The lads kick off at Perth’s Burswood Dome tonight (Dec 4), before taking in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and NZ.
