In 'CRIMES AGAINST FASHION' MTV brings you the celebrity get-ups that should have had stars doing time for their fashion blunders.

52nd Annual Academy Awards saw Hollywood's best and brightest strut their stuff in honour of their fellow cinefiles. There were some big hits on the red carpet - and some even bigger misses.

It pains us to name and shame some of these ladies, but if you do the crime you have to do the time. But fear not starlets, there's always a chance to redeem yourself, the 2010 MTV Movie Awards are just around the corner after all.

Cameron Diaz - Oscar de la Renta

Cam's usually known for her simple style, but here she looks like she's ready to take the stage at a Dallas beauty pageant. Rachel Zoe, we want to see her looking sleek and sexy next time.

Zoe Saldana - Gavenchy Haute Couture

The 'Avatar' beauty certainly has a style, she wore a can-can inspired ruffled dress to the Golden Globes, but this gown just has too much going on. From the waist up it's fab - from the waist down she looks like a flamenco dancer that fell in a grape bin.

Jennifer Lopez - Armani Prive

Pluto, Saturn, Mars... Sorry we got carried away counting the planets orbiting J-Lo's hips. We're all for working your curves, but this dress does nothing to flatter the bombshell's shape, and the fabric looks like a shiny quilt, better luck next time Jen.

Sarah Jessica Parker - Chanel

As she walked on stage Steve Martin intro'd her as "only weighing a pound". And in this dress you could believe it. The 'Sex In The City' actress looks swamped by material, and the oddly places crystal clips do nothing for her silhouette.

Diane Krugar - Chanel

She may have kicked-ass in 'Inglorious Bastards', but Diane got her ass-kicked on the red carpet. Part Little Bow Peep, part Hollywood glamour - the two should never mix.

Charlize Theron - Dior

One way to increase your bust is to stick giant purple flowers on it; the other would have been to wear a push-up bra. Charlize wound up looking like a shrinking violet, in desperate need of an iron. Such a shame.

Vera Farmiga - Marquesa

There's always one who takes the latest fashion trend to the extreme. Here the 'Up In The Air' actress goes OTT with the ruffles, couple that with the bright fuchsia colour and it's just too much for the eye to handle.
