Rising star Ariana Grande had been put on doctor-ordered vocal rest under after suffering from a hemorrhaged vocal cord.

According to Page Six, the actress-turned-singer was forced to cancel scheduled performances this week on ‘The Queen Latifah Show’ and ‘The Arsenio Hall Show,’ and lie low while she recovers.

On the bright side, it looks like the ‘Baby I’ singer is getting a much needed break as she tweeted today: “First day off in forever... Vocal rest and watching movies in with my best friend @alexaluria dunno what I'd do without her.”

The 20-year-old later reassured fans that it wouldn’t be long before she bounces back, writing: “Thank you guys for the well wishes, I'll be better in no time.. just need some rest.”

The timing couldn’t be any worse with the 20-year-old’s debut album ‘Yours Truly’ shooting to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart this week and selling a record 138,000 copies.

The ill-timed condition doesn’t mean the talented vocalist will necessarily be keeping mum - thanks to technology. In an interview on KIIS FM last night, she got the computer to do all the talking.

"ALERT: @ArianaGrande joins me next via #text2voice on @1027KIISFM! She's on voice rest, computer will do the talking!! Not kidding," radio DJ JoJo Wright tweeted.

Wishing Ariana a quick recovery so we can hear her beautiful voice again, soon!
