Stars from across the world have paid tribute to Amy Winehouse, who has passed away aged 27.

Leading the flood of heartfelt messages on Twitter were those closest to her, including reality star Kelly Osbourne, who’s devastated after losing a “best friend.”

"I can't even breathe right my now I'm crying so hard i just lost 1 of my best friends. I love you forever Amy & will never forget the real you. "i miss my friend!” (sic)

While producer Mark Ronson, who worked on the Brit hitmaker’s ‘Back to Black’ album, added,

"She was my musical soulmate & like a sister to me. this is one of the saddest days of my life."



Long-time friend Russell Brand also paid his respects to the talented performer in a lengthy blog, in which he recalls the first time he saw the “genius” singer live.

“My ears, my mouth, my heart and mind all instantly opened,” he recalled.

“She was a f---ing genius."



And describing how she was personally touched by Amy’s incredible music talent, fellow songstress Lady Gaga, told her Little Monsters online,

"Amy changed pop music forever…I remember knowing there was hope, and feeling not alone because of her. She lived jazz, she lived the blues."
