MTV’s ‘Fan Vs Band’ kicked off last week with the ever-gorgeous Jessica Mauboy pitted against her biggest fan! Who took out the title? Click here to find out!
Our one-of-a-kind host, Cheesy Mac, has lined up another victim, er we mean fan to go up against their favourite muso. This week we have another former Aussie Idol in the hot seat, Wes Carr!
Since teaching himself to play guitar and piano at the age of 12, Adelaide born Carr never stopped toiling away at a music career. Fast-forward a few years and Carr found himself struggling to get a break in the industry, so he auditioned for Idol in 2008 and the rest as they say, is history!
His debut album ‘The Way The World Looks’ was inspired by some of Carr’s favourite seventies rock artists, including John Lennon and Bob Dylan. Amazingly, one of the songs on the album was written by Carr when he was only 15 years old.
Carr explains; ‘This [album] really was a culmination of all my musical experiences over the years, this is what I'd been building towards all this time and as a result I really just felt it tumbling out of me.’
His most recent video, ‘Fearless’, features a star-studded cast from the television series ‘Underbelly’. Set in the 1930’s, the gangster themed clip, stars the likes of Vince Colosimo, Matthew Newton, Pia Miranda and Carr’s actress girlfriend Charlotte Gregg.
Judging from critic's responses, the single is set to follow the lead of Carr’s debut single, ‘You’, which was #1 on the Aussie charts in 2008 and reached platinum status.
