Legendary singer Tony Bennett will pay tribute to late songstress Amy Winehouse at the ‘2011 MTV Video Music Awards!’

The music veteran, who recently collaborated with the ‘Back to Black’ star on the track ‘Body and Soul’ for his new album ‘Duets II,” will honour her during a special segment on the night.

Making his first VMA appearance since 1993, the jazz icon will introduce footage of the pair recording together in London this March.

Speaking about the track, which is due to drop on Amy’s birthday (September 14) in support of the Amy Winehouse Foundation, Tony said in a statement to MTV,

"It was a thrill to record with Amy Winehouse, and when you listen to the recording of 'Body and Soul,' it is a testament to her artistic genius and her brilliance as one of the most honest musicians I have ever known."

Meanwhile, the multi-talented star’s father Mitch said he’s “honoured” that his daughter, who bagged global success with tracks including ‘Rehab’ and ‘You Know I’m No Good,’ will be remembered at the star-studded event.

He told MTV, "Our family is honoured that the VMAs are giving Amy this wonderful tribute. We know that Amy's performance of 'Rehab' at the MTV Movie Awards played an important part in Amy's worldwide success."
