We reported several weeks back that Benji Madden and Sophie Monk were violins, but like any good show, the curtain hadn't fallen till the publicist said so.
And while in early January Benji's publicist went to lengths to deny the split, Sophie's Sydney agent has now confirmed the couple's disengagement.
The two had only been engaged for around a year, but troubles were suspected when Sophie was spotted looking sad and jogging by herself over the summer holidays. She was also seen about town without her obligatorily large wedding ring she'd been boasting only months before.
The extent of the split is unknown, though Sophie's Sydney agent, Yoon Kim, said that "the decision was mutual and they remain amicable...this will be my only statement regarding this matter."
But given that new dad Joel Madden was recently said to be rooting for Sophie as the godmother of his daughter Harlow, we can only presume that both boys are still soft saps for single Sophie.
