Note to Elton John fans – never EVER utter a bad word about US musical series ‘Glee!’

If so, you might find yourselves on the receiving end of a few harsh words – just like Kings of Leon have!

The too cool for school rockers - who famously fell out with the show’s creator Ryan Murphy after refusing requests to feature their smash hit ‘Use Somebody’ - have come under fire from the ‘Rocket Man’ star.

When quizzed about the group’s decision to snub the tween show during a TV interview with Jimmy Fallon, the Grammy Award winner snipped,

“A lot of bands say they don't want their stuff on Glee. It's like, ‘Lighten up, you assholes’. This is a compliment.

“What the hell is wrong with you guys? ‘Oh, we don't want our music played.’ Well, Kings Of Leon, lighten up guys. Listen, when someone wants to do your song, it's a compliment.”

And while the pop legend’s rant is unlikely to go down too well with the ‘Radioactive’ stars – it may have helped bag him a guest star role himself...

Earlier this year, the ‘Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me’ singer told E! "I would love to be on Glee, but you have to be asked to be on Glee."
