Messages of support from international celebrities have flooded in for the victims of the devastating earthquake that ravaged Christchurch New Zealand yesterday.

The 6.3 magnitude earthquake rocked Christchurch at 12.51pm local time, toppling buildings, bursting water mains and causing chaos. So far, there have been 75 confirmed deaths, but authorities expect that toll to rise.

MTV VJ Erin McNaught tweeted: "Our hearts go out to the people of Christchurch; such terrible devastation"

Meanwhile MTV NZ VJ Jay Reeve gave a shout out to all those who are on the ground helping victims: “To all the emergency workers that are clearing rubble, fighting fires, saving lives, helping people in Chch, you are true heroes.”

Aussie superstar Kylie Minogue showed her support, tweeting: "New Zealand - sending love x"

Benji Madden said: "Sendin prayers out to everyone in ChristChurch. Beautiful place and great people. Thoughts&prayers with you guys in NZ. God bless!"

Perez Hilton urged readers to donate to the New Zealand Red Cross, while Joe Jonas tweeted: "Praying for New Zealand. So sad. I was there not too long ago such a beautiful place and beautiful people."

Slash adds, "Our thoughts & prayers go out to everybody in Christchurch.”

Justin Bieber also assured NZ fans he was thinking of them: “Just ending the night. My prayers go out tonight to the people of New Zealand. God bless” he tweeted.
