Thousands of Kings Of Leon fans have been left gutted after the US rockers announced they’ve postponed their highly-anticipated Aussie tour.

The Tennessee band, who were due to touch down on our shores in March, have been forced to reschedule their seven live shows after member Nathan Followill suffered a crippling bicep injury.

The drummer told fans on Twitter,

“Sorry to all the fans in Australia and South Africa. My bum wing needs more time to heal but we'll be back later this year. Sorry again."

Doctors have advised Nathan to rest for at least three months to stop the injury from reccurring – and the foursome now plan to hit Oz in November.

However, if Nathan’s brother and bandmate Jared gets his own way – fans could still be seeing at least one member of the band Down Under as originally planned…

After his bro's announcement, he wrote on Twitter,

"Well, I now have March off. Any ideas for fun? I could always fly down to Australia and party anyway. I need some sun."
