Ever wanted to know what really goes on behind-the-scenes of a video clip for one of the world’s biggest rock bands?

Well, MTV Australia caught up with UK pop sensations Coldplay at 2011 Splendour In The Grass to find out!

We sat down with the charming lead singer Chris Martin and guitarist Jonny Buckland for a world exclusive Clippin’ about their dazzling new vid ‘Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall,’ which also happens to be one of their favourite songs to play live.

Talking about how the White Rose movement from 1930s Germany inspired the album, due later this year, Chris said,

“One of the themes of the album is battling against oppressive forces...The White Rose Movement was a group of students in 1930s Germany who came together as a gang to speak out against what they thought was wrong."

“The reason why we find that inspiring, why many people find that inspiring, is the idea of sticking by your beliefs and standing up against the tide of disagreement. It’s a weird comparison to make because we're not as brave or courageous as that, but what I liked about the story was - don't be scared of your enemies.”

Now, watching their new vid ‘Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall’ for the first time since it was re-edited, Chris and Jonny spill on why strobe lights are an artist’s best friend, what they copied from The White Stripes, neon graffiti, and who their favourite guitar player in the world is (and it’s not The Edge!)
