The star’s of MTV’s ‘A Double Shot Of Love’ were both passengers in a car that had allegedly pulled over to the side of the road just after midnight on Tuesday when they were clipped by a semi-trailer truck in California.
Even though the blonde bombshells seemed to be ‘fine’ after the crash, Rikki checked into a nearby hospital to be treated for a “small bump” on her head just to be sure… It’s lucky they did, because the “small bump’’ turned out to be bleeding on the brain. Scary!
Rikki was then rushed to the intensive care unit and placed in a medically induced coma where she received brain surgery, according to the twin’s myspace page.
Initially expected to be taken out of her coma on Friday, doctors made the decision to keep her under a few days more since the swelling had not subsided.
“Her eyes are open and she’s responsive,” said a statement released by Rikki’s manager. It has also been reported that she is now breathing with the help of an oxygen mask, instead of a breathing tune, and even though she is still in intensive care, doctors are confident she will make a full recovery.
Her twin sister Vikki has been by her side during the entire ordeal.
She posted on her myspace yesterday: “Rikki is out of her coma, it's still a long road to recovery...but i am happy.”
