The Aussie popstar has left behind her cute, girl next-door image to a far raunchier look for new single “On A Mission.”
Explaining her make-over she told The Daily Telegraph, “The song is ‘I am a woman on a mission,’ so it kind of required that little bit of skin. I was inspired by Jane Fonda in ‘Barbarella.’
“All the articles that have been written lately have said, ‘There’s nothing sweet about Gabriella,’ that kind of thing – but I guess so. I was 15 when I filmed the video for ‘Sweet About Me.’
And revealing why she changed musical direction towards a far “dancier” sound she added, “I knew that I wanted to do something different.
“All of my favourite artists have always changed and tried different things, so I knew that I wanted to try something. To make a record that I would like to hear if I was going out, if I was on the dancefloor.”
