Brandon Flowers has revealed tantalising morsels about his upcoming solo album entitled ‘Flamingo’.
Talking to NME, The Killers front man revealed a top-notch line up of producers including Stuart Price who’s worked with Madonna and Kylie Minogue, Daniel Lanois (Bob Dylan, U2) and Brendan O’Brian (Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young).
"It's a pretty good line-up, I think,” he said. “Stuart and Daniel have been working together, and I've done another three tracks with Brendan on his own.”
During the interview, Brandon also dished he’d be doing a duet with Rilo Kiley’s Jenny Lewis.
“Jenny's helped me out on a couple of songs, and we also get to duet on the record, on a song called ‘Hard Enough’, which turned out great. She's always popped into my mind whenever I think about getting a female vocalist involved because she's a fellow child of Las Vegas , too. It's all very rooted right here in Las Vegas dirt."
The 28 year old also revealed another song title, ‘Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas’, and stated that many of the songs the will appear on the album were original intended for the Killers.
"To be honest, I personally would prefer it if this was a Killers record," he said. "I certainly never sat around dreaming of going out on my own, but singing songs and writing songs, it's kind of what I do, you know? And I just don't want to stop right now."
Oh, and to clear up those pesky rumours, the Killers haven’t disbanded, they are just on hiatus. In fact, Brandon sees Flamingo "as something that will only make the Killers stronger. I feel like I'm getting something out of my system with this album, but I want the next Killers album to be a wonderful collaboration between four guys who are ready to make the best record that they possibly can."
Can’t wait to hear it!
