While elocution was once a much-needed attribute for A-list celebrity status, (along with tap-dancing and a secret drug habit) it now seems that smart is a lost art.

A prime example comes this morning in the form of trashed up Cobain widow Courtney Love's rant against a US publication for misquoting her (or just plain making shit up) about her attitudes to the tragic Amy Winehouse.

Now it's true that anything juicy coming from old Courtney's mouth would usually carry venereal diseases, and it's therefore understandable that we might like it cling wrapped before service.

But a UK magazine has gone the extra yard in making sure her message is heard. In doing so, they've (almost) made her a lady. It all started when, demonstrating a devil-may-care rebellion to even Spell-check, Courtney was allegedly so outraged at reports last week that she had commented judgmentally on the drug-sucking habits of Amy Winehouse that she threw the following email in celeb blogger Perez Hilton's direction:

"NEVER hav I siad SHIT about Amy! why would I? imet her god for less time than i wa sxin the roonm woth you nd her- im suspicious about wher this quote cam from its too illtimed- whose her pr? Frued? My sex drugs and rock n rill philosphoy is this unlssyour hurting me or people i love then live and let live - just use a rubber. thaTS IT!" She was subsequently reported by UK media as saying:

"I keep my own counsel about sex, drugs and rock'n'roll and I do not judge others unless I know they are a danger to other people beloved in my own life. If that's the case then they'd better watch out. Otherwise my philosophy is super simple: live and let live. Now who needs a brain makeover, when reporters can do it for you?

Paris, you'd better get in line. This is so hotter than anal bleaching right now.
