People like Courtney Love for instance. The singer/songwriter/ professional widow recently found herself embroiled in a Twitter-based flamewar with a fashion designer. What began as some online name calling has since escalated into a proper lawsuit.
So, the story goes like this: Love used to be a fan of fashion designer, Dawn Simorangkir, aka Boudoir Queen. For some reason that relationship turned sour and Love went from praising her work to calling her a "nasty lying hosebag thief". She then went one step further and used her Twitter account to announce Simorangkir was a drug addict and prostitute.
Never minding about the kettle calling the pot black; as anyone with a law degree will tell you, that kind of statement can bring on legal action – which is exactly what Simorangkir begun. The designer has called in the lawyers and is suing love for libel, breach of contract and making “menacing and disturbing” statements. Ha!
If that’s not enough ‘celebrity online shame’ for one week, it’s also been revealed that sad/lonely Jennifer Aniston broke up with John Mayer because he loved Twitter more than her. The singer was so busy updating his account with pointless observations he totally forgot to speak with Aniston for, like, a week or something. Poor Jen.
