has sold over six million albums since she first burst onto the music scene with her debut record ‘Kaleidoscope’.
And now, with another four albums under her belt and one more on its way – the chart-topping diva is proving unstoppable.
But while hardwork and talent clearly goes a long way – the ‘Milkshake’ singer credits her new role as a mother for helping inspire her latest creation.
The hitmaker, who dedicated her fifth release 'Flesh Tone' to her baby son Knight, tells MTV Australia,
“I think motherhood changes you more than anything, you know. I'm an artist, regardless…but I think it helps put things into perspective you know…it refocuses you.”
And while she’s gradually made the move from RnB to more dancier tracks over the years – she refuses to put a label on her new sound.
“Music is music,” she adds to MTV Australia.
“It just goes where it's going to go, you know I think for me as an artist I'm a music lover and I don't put any guidelines or restrictions on myself so it's just wherever I am at the time of my life…I’m just doing what I do.”
