Lauren doesn't even believe the news herself; talking to People Magazine she said:
“If someone said to me five years ago when this all started that I would one day make the New York Times Best Seller list I wouldn’t have believed it. I am so honoured that it is now a reality.”
The semi-autobiographical novel, which draws inspiration from LC’s time on ‘The Hills’, follows Jane Roberts, a 19 year-old who's new to Hollywood and ends up with her own reality show. While it’s all fun, games and posh parties at first, Jane soon realises that being hot property has it downside. While this plot draws obvious parallels to Conrad’s own experience on 'The Hills', Lauren has repeatedly denied that any of the books characters are based on real people.
The starlet has signed a three book deal with HarperCollins, which is sure to keep her firmly ensconced in the media spotlight regardless of her on-screen dalliances.
Hey, at least it shows Gen X and Y are still reading…
