From Beyonce rocking the ultimate red carpet accessory - her baby bump - at the 'MTV Video Music Awards', to the tragic loss of Amy Winehouse and ‘Jackass’ star Ryan Dunn, to quickie weddings (and even quicker divorces), the celebs certainly dished up plenty of fodder to keep us entertained.
So before we count down the New Year, let's count down the top magic MTV moments of the year.
The music industry and fans around the world were sent reeling by the shocking news that soul singer Amy Winehouse had died at age 27 in July of this year. Toxicology reports showed that the starlet died after consuming a lethal amount of alcohol.

Heart-felt tributes flooded in via twitter from celebs around the world, while Bruno Mars and Tony Bennett honoured the singer at the MTV VMAs – and there was hardly a dry eye in the house. R.I.P Amy…
It wouldn’t be the ‘2011 MTV Video Music Awards’ without some serious surprises – but it was Beyonce who stole the show before it even began, causing a media storm with her surprise baby bump!

This year, the world’s favourite guidos and guidettes arrived in Florence looking fresh to death and ready to start stirring some serious mischief abroad…

Faced with all new and confusing road signs, bathroom facilities and of course a foreign language – the housemates wasted no time hooking-up, breaking-up and of course fist-pumping up a storm in the cultural capital!
Back in June, ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1’ was still another six months away from hitting our screens, but MTV gave fans something super exciting to sink their fangs into - a sneaky peek at Bella and Edward’s hotly-anticipated wedding day!

And that wasn’t all! While Twi-hards continued to count down the days until ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1’ hit cinemas, Rob, Kristen and Taylor continued to tease us with tantalizing details of the movie (including that super-hyped honeymoon sex scene!)
Growing close after laying down tracks for her new album, Delta Goodrem and Nick Jonas became Tinseltown’s hottest new couple after they were spotted holding hands in the full glare of the pap lens!

Despite officially splitting with her fiancé Brian McFadden just a month earlier, the two are now a bona fide couple with Nick even flying to Oz the night of the ARIAs to be by his girlfriend's side!
Entering rehab back in October 2010 for a grueling three month stint to deal with “emotional and physical issues”, Demi Lovato bravely opened up months later - admitting it was the “darkest time” in her life - in the hopes of setting an example for young fans with similar problems.

Then, the stage was set for a spectacular comeback single with magic-maker Timbaland at the helm! Add to that a glam makeover, and the 19-year-old starlet was once again poised to take over the world…
Ryan Dunn, famous for his high-octane stunts on ‘Jackass’, sent the entertainment industry into shock when he died after a fatal high-speed car crash in Pennsylvania. The star was killed after his Porsche careered off the road and burst into flames, and toxicology reports revealed that he had had a blood alcohol level of .196 – twice the legal limit.

Close buddy and MTV co-star Steve-O told fans at the time, “I don’t know what to say, except I love Ryan Dunn and I’m really going to miss him.”
In July, MTV Australia followed Gaz and Charlotte as they swapped getting their “tash on” in North England’s Newcastle for sun, sea and surfing Down Under.

Also fronting up to MTV Snow Jam 2011, the reality stars wasted no time showing us what they do best - partying Geordie style!
Just 72 days after Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries said ‘I Do’ in a lavish $10 million wedding in LA, Kim confirmed their shock split in an official statement – which meant the ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star was heading to Australia a single girl!

Since then, the story has been dissected from every angle by the tabs, with rumours swirling that Kris is insisting on annulling the union. We’ll keep you posted!
The '2011 MTV EMA' served up their fair share of gasp-worthy moments, but the real surprise was saved for the end of the show – when Adam Lambert took to the stage with long time Queen legends Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon to effortlessly serve up a flamboyant musical medley including 'The Show Must Go On', 'We Will Rock You' and 'We Are The Champions' that would’ve made Freddie proud…
