French electro-robotic dance royalty Daft Punk are planning a Christmas present for Aussie fans - they've announced a tour of Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Sydney from December 14 to December 22 this year. And you can be guaranteed that it's shiny, sci-fi and battery-operated.

The pac-band have followed up a nine year absence from live shows with a busy last twelve months, cementing the retro appeal of live lyrics worshipping televisions, superheroes and short circuits, and backed by ring-tune funky rhythms. Apart from bringing digital to disco, the duo have also jumped in with other techno-riffic projects in recent months, including a sampling of Kanye West's "Stronger" single (it recently hit number 2 on the US charts); and working on a low-budget sci-fi flick "Electroma", which has jetted to underground cult status in Paris.

The Oz Tour is called Never Ever Land, and will be Daft Punk's first touchdown on Australian soil. The Presets and Bang Gang Deejays will support the electric dance fantasy, along with SebastiAn and Kavinsky.

Pre-sale of the tour tix begins tomorrow through Ticketmaster.
