Silverchair front man, Daniel Johns has embarrassed himself with a joke that really wasn't that funny. In a recent interview for Triple J, Johns said he'd smoked joints with Bono and Peter Garrett which he later took back in a public apology.

Johns told said in the interview that he and his wife, Natalie Imbruglia were invited back to Bono's hotel room to smoke joints with the U2 front man and former Midnight Oil front man and current politician Peter Garratt.

However, the awkward joke only proves the singer shouldn't quit his day job. John's said in his apology; ""I guess I felt a bit like a name-dropper mentioning them on the radio, so that's why I added a silly throwaway joke." It concluded, "I really should just shut up and stick to singing."
