The pop legend could be about to get her manicured mitts on one of showbiz’s most fought-over gold trophies after being told she’s in the running for an Oscar!
The singer’s duet ‘Hello Hello,’ which is featured in the animated flick ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’ has made the list of 39 tracks battling it out for a nomination place at the 2012 movie bash.
The track, which she recorded with Sir Elton John, is up against some hefty competition including Robbie Williams and Brad Paisley's collab 'Collision of Worlds' from ‘Cars 2,’ Mary J Blige’s single ‘Living Proof’ from ‘The Help,’ and will.i.am’s ‘Hot Wings’ from ‘Rio.’
Also scooping two nods on the list - which will be whittled down to just five nominations on January 24 – is Flight of the Conchords’ Bret McKenzie.
The kiwi musician’s tracks ‘Man or Muppet’ and ‘Life’s a Happy Song’ from ‘The Muppets’ have BOTH been shortlisted!
And MTV will be catching up with the stars of the flick, Jason Segal and his famous green friend Kermit at the Australian premiere of the ‘The Muppets’ tonight!
