Leona Lewis was punched in the face by a man while she carried out a book signing in London, yesterday (Wednesday, October 14).

The gentle singer was happily etching her signature on fan copies of her autobiography, ’Dreams’, when the bloke struck her in front of hundreds of horrified people.

Lovely Le’ reeled in shock from the attack while five burly bouncers pounced on her assailant.

Shaken and in pain, the singer was quickly escorted out of the Waterstones store in Central London bringing the signing to an abrupt halt.

The ’Bleeding Love’ lovely had only been 30 minutes into the scheduled 3-hour signing when the attack took place.

A pal of probably the politest girl in pop told the UK’s The Sun: “Leona was utterly shocked and appalled as it came out of nowhere.

"The man queued up patiently, then as soon as she signed his book he smashed her in the face.

"He didn't say anything to her and she is at a loss as to why anyone would do such an evil thing.

"She is devastated as she comes from quite a humble background and loves meeting her fans.”

Leona received treatment for her facial injuries at a top Harley Street clinic while the man who lamped her has been arrested.

Get well soon, lady.
