Jennifer Lopez was nursing two sets of red cheeks after crashing on to her famous arse at last night’s American Music Awards (November 23).

The singer’s cringesome tumble happened at the beginning of her performance of new single, ’Louboutins’.

Jen, sporting flat, chunky boots – rather than the spindly stilettos she was singing about – walked across the backs of five male dancers before taking a daring leap from the last one, on to the stage.

The jump went awry, of course, and poor old J.Lo landed in less-than-ladylike fashion on her butt with her legs spread-eagled.

But, proving she was quite the professional, she got straight back up on carried on with the routine.

This morning (Nov 24), the 40-year-old fox told US radio: “Did I trip a little bit? I don't even remember. Yeah, I meant to do that. That was part of the choreography."

Jen’s fall wasn’t the only sight for sore eyes on the night.

Rihanna looked positively mummy-esque performing ’Wait Your Turn’ in a cat suit made out of white bandages with laser-firing shoulder pads.

And queen of quirk, Lady Gaga, didn’t disappoint, singing ’Speechless’ and ’Bad Romance’ on a flaming piano in a nude suit decorated with skeleton bones.

Polite pop princess Taylor Swift proved you don’t need gimmicks to set the world alight, however, as she picked up the Artist Of The Year trophy.

The 19-year-old name-checked MJ, whom she pipped to the post: “To even be mentioned in a category with Michael Jackson - who we'll miss and love forever - is an unimaginable honour.”
