Some would call Short Stack a pioneering force in digital splendour of youth and music culture. We just call them kick ass.
By their own admission, the boys from Budgewoi were one of the first acts in Australia to “get the MySpace thing” and truly appreciate the immense power of harnessing the web to flog their songs.
To date, they’ve had over a million plays on MySpace, had the most played video clip on YouTube in May 2008, launched their own TV show, merchandise range and ring tone, not to mention supporting the likes of The Veronicas, Metro Station, Kisschasy and Good Charlotte.
In a world first, Short Stack are inviting fans to download a widget at www.myspace.com/shortstackband, which allows them to add their own words to thought bubbles that appear throughout their new video clip, ‘Sway Sway Baby’.
“Every time we release a video, there is always some weener that says “I could’ve done a better job…” they write on their MySpace page. “Well now you can. Just type what you think we should be saying in each speech bubble thingy. Then show everyone your better than them”
