Pop punk princess Avril Lavigne may have been dating ‘The Hills’ hottie for over a year, but that hasn’t stopped her maintaining a “great” relationship with her former hubby Deryck Whibley.
And while her current beau may be prettier to look at – he certainly can’t compete with the Sum 41 star when it comes to musical talent!
And it seems it's just that, that's brought the former lovers back together.
Talking about teaming up with her ex for her new album ‘Goodbye Lullaby,’ the ‘Sk8er Boi’ babe tells MTV,
"I respect Deryck so much as an artist, and he produced several songs on this record.
"I mean, he's in a really cool band, he's a writer and he's a rocker.
“He does it all, and to have him come on this album and produce and mix, it's like he's so talented, I was really happy to have him produce on this record.”
And the hitmaker, whose emotionally charged new record is sure to leave fans wondering which one of the men in her life she’s singing about, insisted her and Deryck have remained close outside the studio too.
She added to MTV, “We're great friends and I'm grateful for the relationship."
