Hilton, who is currently plugging her new MTV documentary ‘Paris, Not France’, told Extra that the she had a special friendship with the King of Pop when she was growing up.
"My mom and Michael went to high school together and they were best friends since they were 13," Paris explains. "So I grew up knowing Michael very well and when he had his daughter, he always loved the name Paris and grew up being an uncle to me. So he asked my mom if it was okay and of course she said yes and I think she's such a beautiful little girl and I'm proud we have the same name."
Never one to be outshone by her ex-BFF, Nicole Ritchie is reportedly planning to pay tribute to her late godfather by naming her unborn child after him.
According to Star magazine, the adopted daughter of pop legend Lionel Richie remained close to Michael until he died of a cardiac arrest last month. Richie, who is due to give birth to her second child with partner Joel Madden in a few months, is rumoured to have said she will name her second child Michael if it’s a boy, Michelle if it’s a girl.
"Nicole is devastated by Michael's death,” says an unnamed source. “She loved him and it happened so suddenly. She wasn't planning on naming the baby after him, but she thinks it's fitting now that he's gone."
In genuine headline-worthy news, Dr. Conrad Murray, the doctor who was living in Jackson’s house and present when he died, is being investigated for manslaughter.
As reported by undercover.com.au, police searched the Houston clinic of Dr. Murray over the weekend, and the doctor’s attorney Ed Chernoff has confirmed that manslaughter evidence is what the police were looking for.
"The search warrant authorized law enforcement to search for and seize items, including documents, they believed constituted evidence of the offense of manslaughter," he stated.
"This is no longer a cause of death investigation," said attorney Mark Geragos, who once represented Jackson. "This is about building a criminal case."
Murray was hired exclusively to work for Jackson for the ‘This Is It’ tour and closed his Houston practice to do the job. The additional investigation of Murray comes as Jackson’s autopsy report was further delayed. The report is now expected next week.
