Pop superstar Christina Aguilera has been arrested for “public intoxication.”
According to TMZ, the mum-of-one was taken to jail at 2.45am after police in Hollywood declared her "incapable of taking care of herself.”
Cops found the ‘Dirrty’ singer in a car reportedly being driven “erratically” by her boyfriend Matthew Rutler - who was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
Steve Whitmore, chief public information officer for the Los Angeles Sheriffs department told TMZ,
“At 2.45am this morning a gentleman was stopped for allegedly driving under the influence. He was subsequently arrested and his passenger, Ms Aguilera, she was arrested.
“It was kind of a unique situation with this law as she was not capable of taking care of herself. She was incapacitated.”
Xtina was kept in a cell at the West Hollywood station for four hours before being released – and while she will not be charged, cops say her arrest will go down on a police record.
Meanwhile her beau, 25, who she met on the set of ’Burlesque’ has been released on bail.
The incident comes just days after pals expressed their fears over the songstress’s recent troubled behaviour.
One told US Weekly,“She's really spiraling…I would be shocked if she's not in rehab in the next month or two."
