Some of the biggest pop superstars on the planet are coming together to help raise funds for Japan, following the devastating earthquake and tsunami.

According to Reuters, singing sensation Justin Bieber, Barbados-born beauty Rihanna, rapstar Nicki Minaj, Irish legends U2 and rock Gods Bon Jovi have all been confirmed to star on a digital-only album by released Universal Music.

And while the complete list of artists is yet to be fully finalised, Pop Queen Lady Gaga is also being tipped to feature on the record – which will see proceeds go to the Japanese Red Cross.

A spokesman for Universal music told Reuters, "We are doing it only digitally because it is faster, and this will be a worldwide release. The plan is to have it available later this week.”

In order to increase proceeds further, Universal are hoping to bag even more artists willing to waive royalties for having their tracks appear on the compilation record.

Our thoughts and hearts go out to all the victims of Japan’s devastating earthquake and tsunami during this tragic time.
